Many times when I engage with everyday Bitcoin enthusiasts—often referred to as “plebs”—they express their uncertainty about whether to continue with their conventional jobs or dive deeper into the Bitcoin sector professionally.
I usually advise them to start by integrating Bitcoin into their current professional activities. However, I previously lacked a concrete example to share—until this morning.
When clients visit osteopath Rob Shaw in Essex, UK (just outside London), they are given the choice to pay him either in British pounds or in bitcoin through a Musqet PoS device.
First Bitcoin payment accepted with @Musqet_Bitcoin POS terminal.
This device lowers traditional payment costs and allows for Bitcoin transactions as well.

(It’s worth noting that Rob doesn’t delve into the intricacies of Bitcoin’s technology or discuss Austrian economic principles during the payment process.)
Rob mentioned that occasionally a client seems surprised by the bitcoin payment option, but most simply choose their preferred payment method and complete their transaction.
As a result of Rob’s efforts, two of his clients now consistently pay using bitcoin, and he serves as an initial point of contact for those who are yet to start this journey.
Rob effectively acts as a Bitcoin ambassador.
(Interestingly, it was an organization named Bridge 2 Bitcoin that first acquainted Rob with Bitcoin as a payment solution for his practice.)
In this way, he is gradually introducing people to Bitcoin, providing them with the chance to step into the world of cryptocurrency.
Some might label this approach as “orange-pilling” (a term I find somewhat off-putting as it comes across as too forceful), but I propose that this method is a more subtle way to introduce Bitcoin. By offering it as a formal payment option for services, it not only legitimizes Bitcoin but also encourages those unfamiliar with it to reconsider their perspective.
If more professionals adopted this approach globally, the rate of Bitcoin adoption would significantly increase.
Instead of feeling compelled to abandon your current career to engage full-time in the Bitcoin world, think about how you can become a facilitator for Bitcoin, integrating it into your existing profession.
Emulate Rob; become a Bitcoin ambassador!
