Pump.Fun Achieves Record-Breaking Daily Revenue in 2025
In the midst of the memecoin frenzy, Solana-based launchpad Pump.fun kicked off the year 2025 with an impressive milestone, generating a record-breaking $15 million in daily revenue. This sector remains a dominant force in the current market cycle, attracting significant investments from eager participants.
Throughout 2024, Solana-based tokens took center stage in the memecoin narrative, setting the tone for the year ahead. The momentum appears to be carrying over into 2025, as evidenced by Pump.fun’s remarkable performance on January 1st.
Having established itself as the go-to platform for launching memecoins, Pump.fun witnessed exponential growth, surpassing even Ethereum and leading Solana protocols in terms of fees and revenue during Q3 of 2024.
Despite facing regulatory hurdles, Pump.fun’s success inspired the emergence of competitors like SunPump and GraFun. Even after being banned in the UK, the launchpad maintained a steady revenue stream, consistently reaching between $2 million and $3 million per day.
Since its inception, Pump.fun has deployed 5.39 million tokens and generated over 2.02 million SOL in revenue, equivalent to $418.7 million based on current market prices. The platform’s strong start in 2025 marked another milestone in its journey to success.
Recent data from Dune Analytics revealed that Pump.fun raked in 72,506 SOL, approximately $15 million, in daily revenue this Wednesday, reflecting a notable 30% increase from late November figures.
Furthermore, Pump.fun continued to dominate Solana’s decentralized exchange (DEX) transactions in December, accounting for 52.8% of all SOL DEX transactions during that period.
Criticisms Amid Memecoin Mania
Despite its financial success, Pump.fun faced criticism for enabling harmful and violent content through its Livestream feature towards the end of 2024. The platform came under fire as users exploited memecoins for viral promotion, leading to controversial incidents.
Following an episode where a user rug-pulled a memecoin on a livestream, Pump.fun experienced its highest revenue day, earning 55,832 SOL (around $11 million). However, this incident elicited negative reactions from the crypto community, prompting a temporary shutdown of the contentious feature.
Lookonchain, an on-chain data analysis firm, reported that Pump.fun transferred over 355,608 SOL to Kraken within the last day, totaling 1,564,064 SOL sent to the exchange and 264,373 SOL sold for 41.64 million USDC.
The platform’s handling of transactions sparked backlash, drawing parallels between Pump.fun and the Ethereum Foundation in terms of community criticism.
Despite the controversies, the memecoin trend remains strong in the crypto market, as seen in the CoinGecko “Solana Meme” category’s 12.5% surge to a $20.9 billion market capitalization within 24 hours, suggesting sustained interest in this sector.
Newcomers like AI16Z and Fartcoin experienced significant daily surges, reaching new all-time highs on January 2nd and swiftly climbing the ranks to become top performers in the memecoin space.
